No Veo la hora…
I have been trying to find the correct translation into Spanish for the commonly used phrase: “I can´t wait!, which expresses, excitement, anxiety, expectation, etc. If you say in Spanish “no puedo esperar” would mean litterally I dont have the time for waiting, for instance waiting at the doctors office; “me tengo que ir, no puedo esperar”, (I have to leave, I cant wait), something absolutely different.
So, in the end, I have discovered that, at least what we argentineans use is this structure:
“No veo la hora de+infinitive” or “no veo la hora de que+subjunctive”,examples: no veo la hora de ir al cine; no veo la hora de que lleguemos a destino. Hope it helps!
